Muirfield – Making a Difference

Future2 is the foundation of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) in Australia.  Through its annual ‘Future2 Make the Difference!’ Grants program, Future2 supports young Australians aged 12 to 25 years experiencing social, financial or physical hardship. Financial planners from across Australia contribute to the FPA’s Future2 Foundation through donations, getting involved in fundraising activities and by nominating organisations for the annual grant program. 

We were pleased to endorse the application for a local charity, Ocean Mind, who provide a six-week surf therapy program for young people who are experiencing mental health issues, social isolation and disabilities in their lives.  You can view part of Muirfield’s submission to the Future2 foundation via the following video link.

This week we were advised the Ocean Mind application was successful with a $10,000 grant helping to change the lives of youth in our region.  In surfing lingo, the program co-ordinator was ‘stoked’ with this announcement and we were proud to be involved.  At a time when our profession could so with some positive PR, we strongly believe being a leader in our community goes beyond the delivery or professional advice.  We hope the Future2 grant will amplify the outcomes of this local program for the next generation.
