Learn how much you can gift

Centrelink allow you to gift $10,000 a financial year, up to a maximum of $30,000 over five financial years.  Those amounts will not be counted for Centrelink Asset and Income Test purposes.

(The gifting amounts are not per person (gift recipient), they are the total of all gifts made.  Centrelink gifting rules are the same regardless of relationship status.)

To see whether you are eligible to make gifts that will not be counted as Assets or Income by Centrelink, please use our calculator below.

Please enter the amounts and dates of any gifts you have given in the last five years.
