The Muirfield Financial Planning Process
If you would like to meet with one of our professional advisers to discuss your future goals and objectives there is a simple 6 step process that will be undertaken.
To get the most out of your appointment, please read through all of the information below and remember to fill out the Confidential Client Information (CCI) fact sheet.
1. To prepare for an Initial Meeting, please:
Read the Financial Services Guide (FSG):
Before we can provide you with any financial advice, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) requires Muirfield Financial Services Pty Ltd to provide you with a Financial Services Guide (FSG).
This guide contains important information about the services we can offer you, our advisers, the cost of our services and the procedures for dispute resolutions.
The FSG can be downloaded from the following link:
Complete the Confidential Client Information form (CCI):
Download the below form and fill out as much information as you can. Attach and email what you have completed to mfs@muirfieldfs.com.au. Alternatively you can print the form and bring to our intial meeting.
The Corporations Act requires that an adviser making an investment recommendation must have reasonable grounds for making that recommendation. This means that we must conduct an appropriate investigation as to your investment objectives, financial situation and particular needs.
This form can be accessed via the following link:

- Latest tax assessment statement
- Latest statement from your super fund(s)
- Details of your financial assets, liabilities and insurance
- Details of any large expenses in the near future

2. Initial Meeting:
This is a getting to know you session and it is at no cost to you. At this first appointment we explain how we operate and develop our relationship.
During this appointment, we will discuss the Client Confidential Information form, clarifying your current Goals, Needs, Assets, Liabilities, Income and Expenses. We may also explore suitable financial planning strategies for you including your risk profile and costs. If you agree with the concept plan, we will proceed to the next step.
3. Develop your financial strategy:
This is an extensive process involving:
- review of your CCI
- strategic, technical, taxation and investment research
- cash flow and income analysis
- risk management
- Centrelink eligibility
- estate planning
The outcome of this process is a comprehensive written personal financial plan called a Statement of Advice (SoA).
4. Presentation of Financial Plan (SoA):
At our next meeting we present the written SoA. We will explain in detail the strategies we have set out and discuss our recommendations.
5. Implementation of Advice:
Once you are happy with the advice and wish to proceed, we will prepare all the necessary paperwork for you to sign.
6. Ongoing Reviews:
Over time changes will warrant a review of your circumstances and investments. Whilst we offer regular written reports on the status of your portfolio and any legislative changes, at no additional cost, we encourage you to call if you have financial queries and request you keep us updated regarding your situation.
